"Music is a spiritual expression of what's in your heart. Music as a way of getting rich is a pretty new thing, and I often wonder if the mega-bucks glitzy atmosphere is making the quality of music suffer. You have to work really hard to get around that and remember why you're in it in the first place: because you have to be. It's like an addiction. You can't go a day without picking up your guitar. To me, the only commercial goals that are really valid are, 'Boy, I wish I didn't have to go to work. I wish I could do this all the time."

Weekend Wrap-up

posted 1:18 PM by the joker

I will just say this: Janet Jackson clearly wanted some publicity, there is no other reason for all of this stuff about a boob popping out…as the CheezLog pointed out via e-mail: “It's kind of pathetic...for us and her.”

The superbowl party I went to yesterday was great. Lots of food, lots of beer, multiple TVs, and good friends. It was a pretty much drama-free weekend for me, lots of sleeping and taking it easy.

JamBase has awarded me a pair of tickets to see the Yonder Mountain String Band on Thursday night…I am one lucky mofo to win concert tickets. Should be a good time.

I watched the first episode of Survivor All-Stars last night, so now I guess I will add that to the list of programs to TiVo and become addicted to. This, of course, is in addition to The Real World San Diego and The Apprentice.

I watched some interviews with John Kerry and Howard Dean this weekend…I’m really into the presidential race. Please please, whatever you do, inform yourself. There is a lot of crazy shit going on in this world, that’s for sure. I don’t want to have a political blog, so I won’t go into it, but you need to vote, and you need to get informed. ‘Nuff said.
