"Music is a spiritual expression of what's in your heart. Music as a way of getting rich is a pretty new thing, and I often wonder if the mega-bucks glitzy atmosphere is making the quality of music suffer. You have to work really hard to get around that and remember why you're in it in the first place: because you have to be. It's like an addiction. You can't go a day without picking up your guitar. To me, the only commercial goals that are really valid are, 'Boy, I wish I didn't have to go to work. I wish I could do this all the time."

Crushed

posted 8:43 AM by CheezLog

What the hell happened to the Cubs last night?

The CheezLog left the Mars Volta show early to come home and watch the rest of the Cubs game. After seeing the score at the beginning of the 8th inning, the Log and his roommate put their jackets on, drank a beer in honor of the assumed victory and prepared to make their way to Wrigley Stadium (an 8-10 minute walk). That's when it all went down. Within 10-15 minutes the Marlins scored 8 runs. For the rest of the inning I sat on the couch (beer in hand), gaping in awe and thinking, "What the hell just happened?!" It's one of the strangest things I've ever witnessed.

I don't feel optimistic about tonight's final game. If there was a time to win it was last night. The pressure is on.
